new image

I thought you might like to see this view of central London, with the sky in its usual colour.
If you feel depressed one of these days, remember that here at least the sky is usually blue...

  1. No offense John, but you really gotta learn how to use thumbnails.

  4. Jorge, believe me, I'm sure I would use thumbnails if I knew what they were. The only thumbnails I know are the ones at the ends of my hands.

  5. Well I guess it's never too late to learn then.

In computer language, a thumbnail is a miniaturized version of a picture, a preview, frequently hotlinking to the full size image when you click on it.

I'm actually a bit confused whether the image was uploaded along with the post or if it is being used as a header for the site instead, since large images are generally reduced to thumbnail size by default while creating a new post. What were you actually trying to do in the 1st place?

  6. I was trying to use it as a header, simply to make the site look at bit more attractive. It's a photo I took myself. This is the view from the café at the Tate Modern.
I must have done something to botch it...

  7. That seems to be the problem then. The header simply displays the desired picture regardless of its actual size, so you didn't do anything wrong. The only solution here would be to edit the picture manually (that is to say, opening it on a image editor program, trim it and resize it).

It's a nice photo, by the way.
